Washington Redskins name RG3 the 2015 starting quarterback.
We haven’t even hit NFL free agency yet and the Washington Redskins are already creating quarterback controversy with Robert Griffin III. Though, oddly enough, this time it’s favorable towards RGIII. At least, I think so.
That’s because head coach Jay Gruden has all but announced that Robert Griffin will be the Washington Redskins starting quarterback for the 2015 season. Yes, there is still free agency and training camp to go through, but who cares – let’s just randomly anoint RGIII top the top of the depth chart.
Gruden says he anticipates QB @RGIII being the starter going into the 2015 season.

In fairness to Jay Gruden, he was in a bit of a pickle either way. If he declined to name Robert Griffin a starter he’d get scrutinized and if he named him the starter he’d receive the same. Perhaps the best course of action would have been to suggest we’re just at the early parts of the offseason and the quarterback situation would be resolved during camp.
But no, it’s not Washington Redskins football without a little bit of controversy.
As far as RGIII goes, do we think he actually starts Game 1 of the 2015 season? Or will he be riding the pine again, assuming he’s still on Washington’s roster.
