Vernon Davis: Colin Kaepernick ‘Looks Like A Different Guy’

Colin Kaepernick

When Colin Kaepernick took over as the San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback, opposing defenses had no idea how to handle him. But adjustments were made by the opposition and life wasn’t as easy on the football field for the signal caller.

That’s not to say he wasn’t good, but he wasn’t the elite talent many projected him to become.

That lead to Colin Kaepernick working out this offseason with a famed quarterback guru Dennis Gile and Kurt Warner, who has advised the 49ers quarterback to be more traditional in his ways and only use his wheels when needed.

We’ve yet to see the end result, though San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis has apparently seen such and he came away impressed suggesting he doesn’t look like the same guy.

“When I saw him yesterday, I didn’t even know that was Colin,” Davis said Friday. “Seriously, he was working on his drop-back. ‘Who was that?’ You guys are in for a treat. He looks like a totally different guy.”

Kaepernick spent over two months training (10 weeks to be exact) and appears ready to prove his doubters wrong.

One thing is for sure – with the tough offseason the San Francisco 49ers have had, they’re going to need a Pro Bowl level Colin Kaepernick if they’re to make some noise in the NFC.
