Tony Romo Told Jerry Jones He’s Basically Going To Die Soon

Jerry Jones and Tony Romo

It was no secret that Tony Romo wanted the Dallas Cowboys to re-sign running back DeMarco Murray, who eventually departed in NFL free agent for the Philadelphia Eagles.

In fact, Romo spent part of the Super Bowl week with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones (and his son) and made his pitch to both (along with head coach Jason Garrett) to keep Murray. It was a valiant effort on the part of the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, but one that may have went a little smoother if he hadn’t had so many alcoholic drinks beforehand.

Romo, who was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel, recalled the story in which he explained to the younger Jones and Garrett that both had a good 25 to 30 years left to win a Super Bowl.

But Jerry Jones and Tony Romo himself? They’re going to be gone in a few years.

Of course, the quarterback meant gone from the Cowboys as they both ride off into retirement, but it didn’t come out that way apparently.

You could easily see where Tony Romo was going with this, but it quickly traveled off course and it appeared as if all those involved had a good laugh.

Somebody keep the beer out of Romo’s hands next time, guys.
