Earlier today Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo said he was asked by DeMarco Murray to restructure his contract in effort to keep the running back in Big D. Romo suggested he was willing to do so, but Murray eventually left for the rival Philadelphia Eagles in free agency.
That doesn’t mean Romo isn’t willing to help however as he decided to restructure his Dallas Cowboys contract which will help Jerry Jones and company clean up their salary cap woes.
Previously, only the New Orleans Saints had a worse financial outlook but thanks to Romo the Cowboys have some breathing room.

It’s a kind gesture on the part of Tony Romo and one that he should have made considering it doesn’t hurt him in the long run, but it allows the Cowboys to remain competitive financially.
They’re still trying to re-sign Rolando McClain and weren’t going to be able to do so without Tony Romo’s restructured contract, though, I’m sure there are a few fans who are a bit salty the move wasn’t done earlier to retain DeMarco Murray before his departure.
