Tom Brady Interception Lead To Patriots’ Alleged Deflated Ball

Tom Brady

Dammit, Tom Brady. Had you not thrown an interception we wouldn’t be dealing with this absurd deflated ball crap, but no, you just had to try and force the ball to Rob Gronkowski and now the world is going to end.

Thanks a lot – thanks a whole hell of a lot.

See, had Tom Brady not thrown the ball into the hands of Indianapolis Colts linebacker D’Qwell Jackson, who in turn gave the ball to an equipment manager on Indy’s sideline this never would have happened.

According to a person familiar with the background of the matter, the Colts first noticed something unusual after an interception by Colts linebacker D’Qwell Jackson in the second quarter. Jackson gave the ball to a member of the Colts’ equipment staff, who noticed the ball seemed underinflated and then notified coach Chuck Pagano.

That series of events lead to Pagano informing Ryan Grigson who then reached out to NFL officials who then sent word to the referee’s to keep an eye out for the situation.

So in short, this is all Tom Brady’s fault.

In all seriousness, why doesn’t the NFL control the balls used instead of allowing teams to control them? It would seem to save a lot of grief, though, it’s the NFL and reasonable explanations aren’t in their line of business.

At least they didn’t know about their super secret, special TV in the stadium parking lot….
