Titans: If We Draft Marcus Mariota, He’s Our Starter

Marcus Mariota

It’s no secret the Tennessee Titans could use a quarterback. Then again, they could use a handful of things and many have suggested Ken Whisenhunt and company would be best served by trading down and picking up a handful of assets come the 2015 NFL Draft.

Such seems like a smart idea, but the Titans aren’t going to show their cards this early and are now seemingly taunted teams picking below them by suggesting they ‘really like’ Marcus Mariota and the Oregon Ducks quarterback would be their starting signal caller if the Titans selected him with the No. 2 overall pick.

Teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and more have been rumored to have interest in the said pick, so it appears to be a bit of posturing on the part of the Titans.

Of course, perhaps Ken Whisenhunt is being completely honest here and isn’t trying to throw a monkey wrench into the draft process, but I find that difficult to believe. That’s not to say Tennessee won’t draft Marcus Mariota, by any stretch, but they’re likely stirring the pot.
