Seahawks Punter Trolls Packers With ‘Discount Double Check’

Seahawks Fake Field Goal

While the Seattle Seahawks are an incredibly talented team, many outside of the Pacific Northwest have a problem with the franchise. Why? Their attitude. From Richard Sherman to Earl Thomas to Marshawn Lynch, just about everybody on the Seahawks’ roster outside of Russell Wilson has had a cocky moment in the public eye.

That includes punter Jon Ryan who decided to troll the Green Bay Packers by performing Aaron Rodgers‘ famed “Discount Double Check” in their faces.

Seconds after Ryan successfully completed a touchdown pass on a fake field goal, the punter looked over at the Packers’ sideline (specially in the direction of head coach Mike McCarthy) and unleashed Rodgers’ popular “move”.

Maybe it was just Jon Ryan making a gesture that had nothing to do with the “Discount Double Check”?

“You did the belt?” Ryan’s younger brother, Steve, said as he sat in Ryan’s locker.

“I did the belt,” Ryan said, laughing, “right at (Packers coach) Mike McCarthy.”

Okay, maybe not. The punter was cut by the Packers a few years back and had apparently been saving the move up for the right moment.

In fairness to Ryan and the Seahawks, that was a damn good troll job. Of course, Seattle was still losing at that point and it’s a well known national law that punters can’t legally troll anybody, but Jon Ryan gets a pass because that was hilarious.
