Seahawks Fan Rejects $20K For Jermaine Kearse Ball

After Jermaine Kearse scored the game winning touchdown for the Seattle Seahawks in their NFC Championship victory over the Green Bay Packers, the wide receiver couldn’t contain himself and the ball ended up in the stands.

That’s where Seahawks fan Scott Shelton was sitting and luck certainly had his number as the pigskin fell right into his hands.

“Wilson drops back. Throws a strike to Kearse,” Shelton gleefully gave the play-by-play. “Pulls down the game-winning catch. He got up and chucked it into the stands. And it bounced about four times. And right into my lap. Just right into my chest. Like, just, boom! Just like that. And I jumped up into the seat and just screaming! It was just amazing!”

Even better? Shelton was offered $20,000 dollars for the ball by a local sports memorabilia store, though decided to turn their offer down.

The Seahawks fan says the only way he’d ever give the ball up is if Jermaine Kearse asked for it, something the wide receiver doesn’t appear interested in doing so it sounds as if Shelton will have one expressive ball in his possession moving forward.

Outside of a Super Bowl ball, it’s one of the best pieces of memorabilia in Seattle Seahawks history but damn, turning down $20K is a ballsy move.
