Seahawks Fake Field Goal Touchdown In NFC Championship (Video)

When it comes to Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, you can never trust his smugness. Such was evident today in the NFC Championship against the Green Bay Packers as trailing 16-0 in the third quarter, Seattle opted to line up for a field goal.

It was a bit too early to have Russell Wilson and company go for it on fourth down, but still was three points really going to put a dent in Green Bay’s hefty lead? Probably not which is why Carroll and the Seahawks opted for a fake field goal against Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay.

They didn’t just pick up a first down though, no, they took it all the way to the house for an extremely impressive touchdown.

Seriously, you couldn’t even pull that off if you had luck on your side while playing Madden.

From getting out of the backfield to the lob throw to the open receiver, it was a perfect storm of well, perfection.

The touchdown brought the Seahawks right back into the game as well – a much bigger blow than if the Packers had held Seattle to a simple field goal.

Certainly one of the best fake special teams plays we’ve seen this NFL season.
