Report: NFL Tried To Catch Patriots In Act Of Deflategate

Tom Brady

The NFL’s front office has been the target of much criticism this year and little changed after they seemingly gave a rather nonchalant vibe to their investigation centered around the New England Patriots and Deflategate.

But perhaps there was more than meets the eye in this regard as according to ESPN’s Ed Werder, the NFL allegedly attempted to catch Tom Brady and company red-handed as they deflated footballs.

According to Werder, the NFL was tipped off to the process before the AFC Championship game and tried to catch New England with pie on their face.

The veteran ESPN reporter is pretty plugged in around the league, so that’s a pretty damning suggestion if true. Of course, just yesterday there were suggestions stating the NFL feels Patriots owner Bob Kraft is essentially “NFL Commissioner Number Two” so at this point it’s difficult to tell who is actually telling the truth.

Either way, it doesn’t appear as if Deflategate is going to be hitting the back burner in the near future, especially if the NFL doesn’t end up punishing the Patriots for the act.

However, it’s likely any potential punishment won’t come until after the Super Bowl against the Seattle Seahawks as the NFL is already dealing with enough black eyes.
