Report: Browns ’90 Percent’ Done With Johnny Manziel

Johnny Manziel

The Cleveland Browns couldn’t have been happier when Johnny Manziel ‘slipped’ to them in the 2014 NFL Draft. Now it appears they’re having a strong case of buyers remorse as Manziel’s rookie year was nothing short of abysmal.

Not only did the former Texas A&M quarterback look bad on the field, he looked terrible off which concluded with a stint in rehab.

Needless to say, it’s understandable why the Cleveland Browns front office might be wanting to part ways with Johnny Football, as noted by ESPN’s Chris Mortensen who says he believes the Browns to be ’90 percent’ done with Johnny Manziel.

“I think about 90 percent that they have moved on [from Manziel] in their own minds except that they really don’t know who they’re going to get when Johnny leaves rehab, which has been an extended stay — a two-month stay. He should be getting out sometime in the first week of April if they’re satisfied that he’s ready to go out and get into society and that whatever deep-rooted problems that he had has been addressed. OK, now he’s part of your depth chart. You have Josh McCown.”

There have already been rumors coming out of Cleveland suggesting Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys could have trade interest in Johnny Manziel, so it appears as if the clock is ticking on his time in Ohio.
