Philadelphia Eagles To Sign Miles Austin

Chalk another one up to Chip Kelly because his offseason troll job continues.

After letting go of players like Nick Foles and LeSean McCoy, Kelly has re-tooled the Philadelphia Eagles with talent like DeMarco Murray and now wide receiver Miles Austin. That’s the word from Ian Rapoport who says the veteran is expected to sign with the Eagles once he clears his physical.

Of course, given Miles Austin’s spotty injury history, passing a physical is no sure thing but for now it appears the two sides have agreed upon a deal.

A former star with the Dallas Cowboys, talent has never been an issue for Miles Austin but he’s struggled to stay on the field.

Hamstring issues have plagued the 31-year-old for the past few seasons and it remains to be seen if he can return to the player he once was or if he’ll be a shell of his former self. Either way, it’s a small risk, big reward type move.

Chances are the move probably won’t make a huge impact, but it’s a risk Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Eagles feel is worth taking.
