Although it’s likely both Tom Brady and Bill Belichick knew what was going on with Deflategate, it appears a New England Patriots locker room attendant will be the one who takes the blame for the embarrassing debacle.
That’s the word from Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer who dished the scoop on social media.
Breaking news: sources tell @FOXSports the NFL has zeroed in on a locker room attendant w Patriots who allegedly took balls from officials locker room to another area on way to field. Sources say they have interviewed him and additionally have video. Still gauging if any wrong doing occurred with him but he is strong person of interest.
Nobody really expected any of the big names in this Deflategate situation to be implicated in such, much like previous Patriots scandals (like the video taping) where it’s some intern level based person who takes the fall.
That’s not to say the New England Patriots won’t get some sort of punishment for Deflategate (they likely will), but it’s probably not going to be anything more than a slap on the wrist considering the locker room attendant will be manufactured as a “rogue” employee who was not acting on behalf of any orders issued by the Pats.
