NFL Rumors: Jaguars Could Trade For Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson

While the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals have been the two NFL teams most linked to a potential Adrian Peterson trade, it’s another team who could be considered as the ‘upset special’, this according to Peter King.

So who is also eying a potential Adrian Peterson trade with the Minnesota Vikings? None other than the Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to King, the Jags could be a team to enter into the mix if the Vikings do indeed decided to trade their Pro Bowl running back.

I see Dallas or Arizona—or my upset special, Jacksonville, still awash in cap money—making this deal only if Peterson can make the financials easier on them, and if the Vikings are willing to take a lesser pick for him. For now, I don’t think the Vikings are willing to do that. And so it’s a stalemate.

While Adrian Peterson does make sense from a football perspective for the Jaguars, this is the same team who wouldn’t commit financially to DeMarco Murray. Now if they were to trade for Adrian Peterson, they’d have to commit more money (at least up front) while also giving up some type of assets (likely draft picks) in a said trade.

Given that it seems unlikely they’d actually go through, but, according to Peter King they might be a team to keep an eye on.
