While Peyton Manning will be returning to the Denver Broncos next season, the quarterback might be without one of his favorite targets. That’s because Pro Bowl tight end Julius Thomas is expected to depart in NFL free agency.
The former basketball player turned football star has drawn interest from a handful of teams but Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole hints it’s likely the Jacksonville Jaguars will sign Julius Thomas.
Thomas has been a target of the Jags since the Broncos season came to a close and many believed the two would get a deal done. Now it appears to be very close to a reality.

Many have questioned the talent level of Julius Thomas, some believing he was more a product of Peyton Manning than a true game changing tight end. Of course, there’s no solid proof either way, but Thomas has produced when given the opportunity.
Assuming the deal is to go through, we’ll now see just how much Manning played into the role of Julius Thomas or if the tight end is truly one of the best players in the NFL with Blake Bortles throwing passes his way.
