NFL Rumors: Browns, Eagles Talk Johnny Manziel Trade

Johnny Manziel

Could Chip Kelly strike again? If the folks at Chat Sports are right, he could.

That’s because Kelly’s Philadelphia Eagles are said to be interested in a Johnny Manziel trade with the Cleveland Browns.

Last week, ESPN’s Chris Mortenson reported the Browns were ’90 percent’ done with the former Texas A&M quarterback and he wasn’t the only one to suggest a trade was possible. Now it’s the team who worked out Tim Tebow who could be on the other side of a deal, assuming the price is right.

And what is that price, you ask? None other than Sam Bradford, whom the Eagles acquired from the St. Louis Rams last month.

According to a source very close to an agent involved in the trade talks, the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles have engaged in multiple discussions to send Browns QB Johnny Manziel, who is currently in rehab, and draft picks, to the Eagles in exchange for Eagles QB Sam Bradford, who was recently acquired via trade from the St. Louis Rams.

Considering the report doesn’t come from a high profile name like Adam Schefter or Ian Rapoport, many will likely take such with a grain of salt. Still, it would be a typical Chip Kelly move to acquire Johnny Manziel in a trade so we wouldn’t put it past him and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Wouldn’t be a bad move for the Cleveland Browns, either.
