NFL Rumors: Browns Offer Draft Pick To Eagles For Sam Bradford

Earlier today it was reported the Philadelphia Eagles may have traded for Sam Bradford, not to keep, but to use as bait in effort to acquire the No. 2 overall pick from the Tennessee Titans so Chip Kelly and company could draft Marcus Mariota.

That may or may not be true, but Kelly did state earlier this week an NFL team had offered him a first-round draft pick for Sam Bradford. Nobody knows for sure who that team was, though it’s looking more and more likely as if it was the Cleveland Browns.

Per CBS Sports:

Neither coach identified the mystery team, but in an appearance on the Michael Kay Show, former NFL GM Charley Casserly said it was the Browns.

“I’m looking at Cleveland,” Casserly said. “The information I have is that they offered a one for Sam Bradford, ok, so clearly they’re aggressive in trying to get a quarterback. They’ve got two one’s. (They) can’t be sold on what (they’ve) got. I think they’ll be aggressive in the draft.”

Of course, the Cleveland Browns have Johnny Manziel at quarterback but that experiment hasn’t went as planned and Sam Bradford would be a current upgrade from such. That’s not really saying much, either, but it is interesting to note.

Considering the Eagles have yet to trade Sam Bradford, it appears they’re either content with keeping him over the Browns offer ore are waiting closer to the 2015 NFL Draft.

The Browns own both the No. 12 and No. 19 picks in the first-round.
