It’s expected that both Frank Gore and Michael Crabtree will follow former San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh out the front door in a matter of days. Now it’s possibly the turn of quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who just a season after signing a hefty (though relatively team friendly) contract is said to be on the trade block.
That’s the word from multiple NFL insiders, a report confirmed by Forbes’ Vincent Frank.
Can confirm through my connections, @JaysonBraddock ‘s report that Kaepernick is indeed on the trade block.

While there are many big names that often have a change of scenery during the NFL free agent period, it’s very rare to have a quarterback like Colin Kaepernick made available.
Still, with the wholesale changes that have come to the 49ers this offseason, there’s likely no better time than the present to go in a different direction if Jed York, Trent Baalke and company aren’t sold on their assumed franchise quarterback.
Who exactly would be interested in a potential Colin Kaepernick trade is unknown, though quarterback needy teams like the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets and more will likely throw their hat in the ring if the San Francisco 49ers are indeed serious about dealing their signal caller.
