NFL News: Wes Welker Visits Miami Dolphins

It’s been a very quiet offseason for wide receiver Wes Welker who until recently, had yet to even visit a potential team. That changed earlier this week though when the Miami Dolphins came calling.

In need of a wideout, the Dolphins have been rumored to have contact with both Michael Crabtree and Greg Jennings in recent days but have now seemingly turned their attention to Wes Welker.

The former Pro Bowl talent is sadly a shell of his former self and is coming off some rather serious concussion issues, but still wants to play football. Given that and his expected cheap price tag, it’s understandable as to why the Miami Dolphins are showing interest in Wes Welker.

If Welker is to sign with the ‘Phins, it wouldn’t be his first stint in South Beach as the former Texas Tech star played his first two seasons with Miami before heading to the New England Patriots and eventually the Denver Broncos.

Of course, signing Wes Welker doesn’t do a ton for the Dolphins depth at the wide receiver position given his injury history, but he does bring talent and experience to the field when he’s not hurt which sadly is pretty rare at this point of his career.
