For as long as you can remember, the San Francisco 49ers color scheme has been red, gold and white. Well, that’s about to change, assuming the rumor mill isn’t full of garbage. That’s because the new San Francisco 49ers alternate jersey is black.
Yep, somewhat channeling their cross-Bay rival, the Oakland Raiders, the San Francisco 49ers jersey you’ll see on the field this upcoming season will stray away from the traditional red and opt for black instead.
For what it’s worth, the San Francisco 49ers have yet to confirm such, though the evidence sure seems to do so.

Ironically enough, this probably isn’t the first time you’ve seen black 49ers jerseys on the internet because they’ve been made before. They were either just ‘fashion’ jerseys or cheap fakes on auction sites like eBay. Regardless, these will be the first to actually see the field – again – assuming they are indeed real and legit.
They certainly look the part though and while many will have a distate for them considering it’s a big change from the normal 49ers jerseys, they’re not the worst alternate we’ve seen. Not by a long shot.
Not hard to envision Colin Kaepernick, Torrey Smith, Reggie Bush and company rocking these. Though it’s a little sad Patrick Willis and Frank Gore won’t have the opportunity.
