New England Patriots Use Drones At Practice

New England Patriots

Remember a few years back when The Onion ran a satirical piece about the New England Patriots using a drone at practice.

Well, today it’s a reality.

Joining the likes of the Dallas Cowboys and a few other NFL teams, Tom Brady‘s Pats have incorporated the use of drones at their practices which was noted by the Boston Herald.

The Patriots used a drone above the practice fields to film the workout. That’s new this year, and it was pretty cool to see the development.

Generally, this normally wouldn’t be headline making news, but it’s Bill Belichick’s Patriots we’re talking about here. You know, Deflategate. Spygate. All that jazz.

So what does this mean? Well, nothing, really. As noted above, the New England Patriots are just one of many football teams using technology to their advantage and there’s nothing wrong with recording your own practices via drone.

Of course, you have to assume that at some point, one team will take things a little too far and perhaps try to skirt the rules and get another team on footage. There have already been rumors about such happening in college football, so expect the NFL to come out with some tighter rules in the near future for drones.
