LeSean McCoy On Eagles: DeMarco Murray Was Panic Move

The Philadelphia Eagles appear to have a plan in mind in regards to their roster, despite cutting ties with players such as Nick Foles, Jeremy Maclin and LeSean McCoy. Though, the former Philadelphia running back doesn’t seem to understand what Chip Kelly and company are doing.

After McCoy was traded to the Buffalo Bills, the Eagles signed DeMarco Murray, formerly of the Dallas Cowboys. Many thought it was a solid move, especially since it hurt a division rival, but McCoy thinks the Eagles simply made a panic move to replace him in the backfield.

“I’d seen they originally were trying to get Frank Gore and he backed out,” McCoy said. “So when they got DeMarco Murray and they got Ryan Mathews, I thought it was a panic move. I guess that was the way to make it right.”

“They took two backs to replace one. I think DeMarco’s a hell of a back and he’ll do a good job there,” McCoy said. “I’m not sure how that went but it is what it is.”

Most would suggest adding DeMarco Murray over Gore was the right move, especially since the former San Francisco 49ers running back was set to make some major coin with the Eagles.

Time will tell who’s right in their argument.
