Emmitt Smith To DeMarco Murray: You Can’t Leave Cowboys For Eagles

Dallas Cowboys

There are a handful of legendary football players synonymous with the Dallas Cowboys. One of them is former running back Emmitt Smith, who of course stared alongside Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin during the Cowboys iconic 1990’s run.

And while the Cowboys haven’t had a running back anywhere near Smith’s talent level in the years since, they did have DeMarco Murray, who in his own right is pretty talented. So when he left to the Dallas Cowboys in free agency to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles, Emmitt Smith couldn’t help but shake his head, suggesting he would never have been able to do such.

“I couldn’t imagine being in that position at all. I like to think that Philadelphia, although as much as they hate the Dallas Cowboys, love to get quality football players on their football team, and DeMarco Murray happened to be one of those guys … I don’t think it switches the balance of power. I think the balance of power still has to be played between the goal lines … but I still think our Dallas Cowboys are a team that you have to deal with and you cannot take us lightly.”

With the Eagles being one of the Cowboys’ biggest rivals, it’s an understandable stance, but money does talk.
