Eli Manning On Deflategate: Tom Brady’s Concerns ‘Strange’

Tom Brady Eli Manning

When it comes to ball pressure, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has no preference. So he couldn’t help but think Tom Brady‘s desire to have his footballs weighing a certain amount as we’ve learned through Deflategate was a bit ‘strange’.

That’s what Manning told a group of fans and admirers at a private function at the New York Athletic Club according to TMZ.

“I never worried really much about the inflation,” Manning said … “I thought it was kind of strange that [Tom] Brady knew he liked his ball at 12.5 pounds of pressure in the ball.”

Despite calling Tom Brady’s preferences ‘strange’, the New York Giants quarterback didn’t really put blame on the Patriots signal caller for Deflategate and even somewhat defended him suggesting the weight of the ball doesn’t have much of an impact on the ability to throw/catch it.

With Super Bowl media day upon us, it’s likely Deflategate isn’t going to die anytime soon, especially with other high profile NFL players like Eli Manning taking questions on the subject.

It is a bit interesting to see that the younger Manning doesn’t believe ball pressure is ‘that big of a deal’ considering so many former NFL quarterback’s suggest otherwise, so perhaps Eli was simply trying to help his fellow signal caller out.
