The Philadelphia Eagles want Marcus Mariota, at least, that’s what the rumor mill says. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of such news and it likely won’t be the last, though the more often it occurs the stronger the likelihood of it being real.
Now it’s Philly Inquirer’s Jeff McLane who believes the Eagles will do whatever it takes to acquire the Oregon Ducks quarterback before the 2015 NFL Draft.
Mr. @Jeff_McLane on 97.5, talking Mariota: “Unless I’m missing something here, the Eagles are going to do whatever it takes to get him.”

Marcus Mariota of course has very close ties with current Eagles head coach Chip Kelly from their time at Oregon, thus the interest. Of course, the Eagles have the 20th overall pick in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft and it’s expected that Mariota will likely be gone in the top five meaning Philadelphia will have some work to do.
It’s very likely that moving up to the first or second spot in the draft will cost Philadelphia most of their picks, though that might be a price worth paying if Chip Kelly and company believe Marcus Mariota will be the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback of the future.
Nick Foles might want to start packing his bags.
