Ever since the New Orleans Saints traded Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham, speculation has ran wild suggesting Drew Brees could be next with Jameis Winston as the target.
It makes sense considering Brees’ hit on the Saints’ salary cap and their apparent rebuilding scenario, but there is nothing to the Drew Brees trade rumors. That’s the word from Jeremy Fowler who says both Drew Brees and wide receiver Brandin Cooks are not available.
Everybody else on the New Orleans Saints’ roster however, is available for trade.

The interesting part here might be what Drew Brees himself wants to do. While he obviously loves the city and will likely remain in New Orleans after his playing days are over, he’s not exactly a spring chicken and only has a few years of football left. Does he want to spend them struggling with the rebuilding Saints or would he be best served playing elsewhere for a team in desperate need of a quarterback?
For now it appears Brees is content with the Saints and they apparently have no interest in trading their franchise quarterback, but you have to wonder how much longer that scenario is going to last.
