In case you missed it Friday night, the NFL has decided to cancel the upcoming Tony Romo Fantasy Football Convention which was to take place in Las Vegas next month because, well, the NFL says so.
Their reasoning? Betting.
Seriously.
No, they aren’t exactly coming out and saying it but it’s very obvious as to why they decided to can the event, not taking into consideration all of the football fans they just put out. I mean, this was a pretty big deal and the Dallas Cowboys quarterback was none too happy about the league putting a stop to it. In fact, he ripped the NFL on social media and now his Cowboys teammate Dez Bryant has taken up for him as he too blasted Roger Goodell and company.
Bryant responded to a fan question about the fantasy football tournament and it’s safe to say he was rather irritated, understandably.
@tonyromo put that event together for the fans… Geniuses shit

There’s really no reason for the NFL to make such a move, especially considering all the other drama they have going on.
