Dez Bryant: ‘I’m A Dallas Cowboy At Heart’

Dez Bryant

With both DeMarco Murray and Dez Bryant free agents, the Dallas Cowboys are likely going to have a difficult decision to make. Most assume that it will be Murray left standing at the alter in regards to the two players, but Bryant isn’t going to count his chickens before they hatch.

The wide receiver recently stated he knows it’s a business and a return to Big D isn’t guaranteed, though he wanted to make one thing clear – whatever happens he’s a ‘Cowboy at heart’.

“Regardless, I’m a Cowboy,” Bryant said, via NBCDFW.com. “But it is what it is. It’s business. I am a free agent. I’m very confident that something is going to happen, something is going to get done, and have these Cowboys fans excited for a long time. I’m a Cowboy at heart. It’s Cowboys forever.”

Free agent or not, the Dallas Cowboys will have the option of placing the franchise tag on Dez Bryant if they’re unable to complete a contract extension, so the wide receiver leaving for another team seems all but impossible this offseason.

Dallas and Bryant would obviously both like to get a long-term deal done, but if not, it certainly doesn’t sound like he’s going any place. Murray on the other hand, could be a different story.
