Detroit Lions May Cut Reggie Bush To Sign Justin Forsett

Reggie Bush

It appears as if Reggie Bush‘s tenure with the Detroit Lions could be coming to an end as rumors are swirling that his roster spot going into the 2015 season is not secure.

In fact, it’s possible the Detroit Lions may cut Reggie Bush.

Unhappy with Bush’s performance and constant injury woes, the Lions could be looking for an upgrade at the running back position and might have their eyes on Justin Forsett who would essentially replace the former USC star.

He (Justin Forsett) said the Lions “are stacked” at running back with Bush, Joique Bell and Theo Riddick on the roster, but neither Caldwell nor general manager Martin Mayhew would commit to bringing Bush back after an injury-riddled season and chances are good the Lions address the position somehow this spring.

“I would love to stay in Baltimore,” Forsett said. “But it’s a business thing, whoever can make (a commitment) happen.”

When Reggie Bush is healthy, he can be a very productive running back in the correct system. However, healthy and Reggie Bush don’t really go well together and given his age, you can’t help but think more injuries could be on the horizon.

Add in the solid play from Forsett with the Baltimore Ravens this past season and it’s easy to see why the Detroit Lions may cut Reggie Bush in favor of Justin Forsett.
