Dallas Cowboys Rumors: Chris Johnson Wants To Sign

Dallas Cowboys

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has suggested it would be ‘nice’ to play for the Dallas Cowboys. There were rumors leading up to the draft Jerry Jones and company would draft a big name rusher to replace the departed DeMarco Murray.

Yes, they did sign Darren McFadden in free agency, but he’s not going to get the job done by himself so the Dallas Cowboys are going to need another back. Might that be three-time Pro Bowl talent Chris Johnson?

He certainly seems to hope so as he told the Dallas Cowboys to ‘holler’ at him. Johnson of course most recently played with the New York Jets and wasn’t exactly the most effective player on the football field.

So who might the Cowboys bring in to supply reinforcements? One veteran back is already lobbying his services.

Former 2,000-yard rusher Chris Johnson would like the opportunity to play for the Cowboys and run behind one of the NFL’s top offensive lines.

Johnson was recently stopped outside a Los Angeles restaurant by TMZ and was asked about the possibility of playing for the Cowboys next season.

While Chris Johnson might be interested in the Dallas Cowboys, it’s difficult to imagine the feeling is mutual considering the 29-year-old probably doesn’t have much in the tank. He’s also dealing with some potential legal issues after he was shot in the shoulder, so you’d think Jones and company will likely pass.

Sorry Tony Romo – looks like the Cowboys will still be looking for another back.
