Dallas Cowboys May ‘Buy Low’ On Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has already admitted that re-signing both Dez Bryant and DeMarco Murray will be difficult. The odd man out between that duo would likely be Murray given NFL depth at the running back position, which has many believing  Jones and the Cowboys would pursue Adrian Peterson if he was to become available.

That’s apparently also the belief of Jason La Canfora who suggests Dallas could ‘buy low’ on Adrian Peterson come free agency.

“I think the elephant in the room is Adrian Peterson,” La Canfora said. “If (Jones) feels like he’s able to buy low on Adrian Peterson and he’s reinstated, they’ve got their eye on that situation.”

It makes sense, especially if the Dallas Cowboys can get Peterson for a “cheap” price as he’s a Texas native and has more or less expressed publicly that he’d be open to playing in Big D.

As for DeMarco Murray, it’s been reported the Dallas Cowboys have a four-year, $16 million dollar offer they’d like to present him though that’s not all guaranteed money and it’s likely he’d be able to find a better figure on the open market.

For now it appears to be a waiting game though things should start to speed up once the offseason truly kicks into full gear.
