Cowboys Rumors: Jerry Jones Hints At Adrian Peterson Trade

Dallas Cowboys

Before the NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys were thought to be one of the favorites to make an Adrian Peterson trade.

That time has since come and gone with NFL rumors suggesting the Cowboys were more or less out of any potential deal with the Minnesota Vikings wanting to keep their former Pro Bowl running back.

But perhaps a not-so-subtle hint was dropped by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, suggesting the door was still open for an Adrian Peterson trade.

Asked about possibly trading Dallas’ first-round pick for 2016, Jones suggested that while he isn’t rushing to do so, he’d be open to it for the right player.

“I’d be reluctant to, but certainly if the right situation came along that could improve us now, with where we are with (35-year-old quarterback) Tony Romo, his career and where we are with what we’ve put together, it’s a good time to go for it,” Jones said, per Fox Sports Southwest.

It’s still rather unlikely, but it’s an interesting note. Of course, Jerry Jones has been known to stroke the fire needlessly on more than one occasion, regardless, it’s something to keep an eye on moving forward.

Those Adrian Peterson to Dallas Cowboys rumors just refuse to go quietly.
