Late Sunday night, news broke suggesting the San Francisco 49ers were open to the idea of trading franchise quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
Granted, it seemed a little odd to think the 49ers would give up on their signal caller after signing him to a lucrative though rather team friendly contract just a year ago. Regardless, the rumor picked up steam.
However it appears as if the 49ers weren’t about to let Colin Kaepernick think he was actually in danger of being traded as according to Jim Trotter, both Kaepernick and general manager Trent Baalke reportedly shared laughs over the trade rumor.

The idea of Colin Kaepernick being traded does seem a bit outlandish, but with everything going on around the 49ers franchise (Frank Gore leaving, Patrick Willis allegedly retiring) you really didn’t know what to believe.
For now though, it appears as if the Colin Kaepernick trade talk can be put to rest, assuming the report about he and Trent Baalke having chuckles over the whole idea is true.
