Chicago Bears Hire John Fox As Head Coach

For days the rumor mill has suggested John Fox would eventually be hired as the Chicago Bears head coach, though the situation continued to play on. Perhaps it was simply a matter of ironing out the contractual details as today the Bears announced they will indeed hire Fox as their newest head coach, replacing Marc Trestman in the process.

Fox, who was let go by the Denver Broncos last week signed a four-year deal with the Bears. Currently money isn’t known, though considering Jason Garrett just got $6 million per season from the Dallas Cowboys you have to imagine John Fox did pretty well himself.

Multiple other teams coveted John Fox after he was let go, including the New York Jets though he refused an interview with the team leading many to believe he was the Chicago Bears’ choice from the start and the two had mutual interest.

We’ll never know if that was the case, but at this point it doesn’t matter since he’ll be in the Windy City for the next four years at minimum barring an oddity.

Should be interesting to see what he plans to do with the broken locker room along with Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall.
