Chargers Accuse Seahawks Of Punching Philip Rivers In The Junk

Philip Rivers

On Saturday evening, the San Diego Chargers played host to the Seattle Seahawks – a game which featured a significant amount of temper tantrums.

One of those came from Bolts quarterback Philip Rivers, who was none too pleased with Seahawks rookie Frank Clark.

That’s because, according to some players on the Chargers, Clark punched Rivers in the junk.

It all took place after Clark’s teammate, Jordan Hill sacked Philip Rivers. The Chargers quarterback can be seen on the ground grabbing Clark, but it’s difficult to see where a punch was – if there even was a punch.

But the Chargers aren’t buying that.

“That guy was on top of Philip, and that’s our quarterback,” Dunlap told The San Diego Union-Tribune. “I protect the quarterback at all costs.”

As for Clark, perhaps his comments might have been the most damning of all:

“Man this game, it’s a lot of emotions is involved,” he said via The Seattle Times. “I’m a real emotional player but there are ways you react and ways you don’t react. You’ve got to be smart in this game. That was something Sherm (Richard Sherman) was telling me afterwards, that whole thing, even though I didn’t get called for anything, just to avoid situations like that.”

Difficult to tell if there was a punch thrown, but if so, next time keep it above the belt guys. Nobody needs a broken baby maker.
