If the Baltimore Ravens are to retain running back Justin Forsett, they’ll certainly have some competition. We’ve already heard rumblings suggesting the Detroit Lions are intrigued with the veteran and now the Atlanta Falcons have ‘strong interest’ in signing Justin Forsett.
The Atlanta Falcons will have strong interest in running back Justin Forsett if he hits the free-agent market, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.
Forsett, who turns 30 in November, rushed for a career-high 1,266 yards and eight touchdowns for the Baltimore Ravens this past season while replacing the suspended Ray Rice. Forsett made a modest $730,000 while playing on a one-year contract.
Forsett of course played under Gary Kubiak‘s offense with the Ravens and the Atlanta Falcons will employ a very similar system under Kyle Shanahan which makes the running back an obvious free agent target.
On the flip side, Justin Forsett is 30-years-old which is seemingly the death age of running backs in the NFL, so it should be interesting to see what type of deals he gets in free agency.
If Justin Forsett was to sign with the Atlanta Falcons, he’d likely split carries with Devonta Freeman, much like he was doing with the Baltimore Ravens.
