Arian Foster Says He Needed Counseling For Off Field Issues

While Houston Texans star running back Arian Foster is a force on the football field, the Pro Bowl talent has spent a lot of time in the trainers room as well.

Sometimes that leads to players having an abundance of time, considering they’re not always at the practice facility or traveling with the team.

We don’t know if that’s what was up with Arian Foster, but the Houston Texans star did admit to TMZ that he needed counseling for his off-field issues.

“I thought I was too cool to get counseling. I thought I was above that,” Foster said Thursday, per TMZ Sports. “The only reason I’m talking about it now is because I know a lot of people out there now feel like I used to to feel.”

It was reported earlier this year that Foster was going through a divorce after it was alleged he fathered a child with another woman, though, there’s never been confirmation of such. Regardless, Arian Foster wasn’t speaking on what exactly his off-field issues were, just that he was doing better after his counseling.

As for Foster, once he gets back on the football field, he believes he’ll have the best year of his career.

“I think this is going to be my best year and I still feel like it will be,” Foster said, per Dan Hanzus of NFL.com. “It’s going to be tough because I’m going to have some ground to make up, but I was feeling the best, feeling the quickest that I felt. You can judge for yourself.”
