Adrian Peterson On Dallas Cowboys: ‘Would Be Nice’

Adrian Peterson

The Minnesota Vikings came out earlier this week and suggested they were ‘not interested’ in trading Adrian Peterson. Of course, there’s a vast difference between ‘not interested’ and ‘not willing’, which has lead to speculation the running back could be shipped out.

Of course, the Dallas Cowboys, who the NFL rumor mill suggests have interest, reportedly haven’t talked about a trade. That doesn’t mean Adrian Peterson isn’t interesting in playing in Big D however as the former Pro Bowl running back finally admitted what we all know.

Adrian Peterson wants to play alongside Dez Bryant, Tony Romo and Jason Witten with the Dallas Cowboys.

“It would be nice,” Peterson told Dallas’ WFAA-TV while in attendance for the Houston Rockets’ closeout 103-94 victory against the Mavericks on Tuesday night. “I’ve got family here, my dad’s here. But I’m under contract, so we’ll see.”

That sounds like a player who’s very committed to his organization, does it not? Where was that sarcasm font button again?

In all seriousness, Peterson doesn’t have a ton of leverage given his contract as most teams couldn’t absorb such. Granted, he could become a problem/distraction for the Minnesota Vikings and try to force a trade (preferably to the Dallas Cowboys), but for now it doesn’t sound as if there is anything brewing.

Things change very quickly in the NFL though.
