49ers Player: Jim Harbaugh Is Crazy And Maybe Clinically Insane

Jim Harbaugh

It seems like a safe bet to assume most San Francisco 49ers players didn’t want Jim Harbaugh to leave.

But there might have been a few who had grown tired of his over-the-topic antics. This of course wouldn’t be the first time, considering Harbaugh has more or less worn out his welcome during every stop during his career – even dating back to his playing days.

That’s much of the reason the 49ers front office decided to let Harbaugh join, allowing him to join the Michigan Wolverines.

Now one of his former 49ers players, guard Alex Boone, says Jim Harbaugh is crazy and might even be clinically insane.

“I think he just pushed guys too far. He wanted too much, demanded too much, expected too much. You know, ‘We gotta go out and do this. We gotta go out and do this. We gotta go out and do this.’ And you’d be like, ‘This guy might be clinically insane. He’s crazy.’ . . . I think that if you’re stuck in your ways enough, eventually people are just going to say, ‘Listen, we just can’t work with this.’”

It doesn’t seem as if there is any animosity on the part of Boone, who spoke with Andrea Kremer for HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, so these really aren’t sour grapes talking.

Granted, we don’t know if any other 49ers players feel this way, though it’s certainly interesting to peak behind the curtains of what took place in the San Francisco locker room.
