49ers News: Colin Kaepernick Has Made ‘Tremendous Strides’

The San Francisco 49ers have essentially had a nightmare offseason as not only did they lose Patrick Willis to retirement, but they also lost multiple key free agents like Michael Crabtree, Frank Gore and more.

Granted, they did sign some big names like Torrey Smith, Reggie Bush and Darnell Dockett but it’s still been a messy offseason by the Bay. Given that, the 49ers might be unleashing a little propeganda as they recently suggested quarterback Colin Kaepernick has made ‘tremendous strides’ since the season came to an end.

That’s the word from quarterback coach Dennis Gile who says the two spent 10 weeks in Arizona training, which included sessions with former St. Louis Rams quarterback Kurt Warner.

“I don’t think there was a throw he couldn’t make when he first got here,” Gile told CSNBayArea.com on Sunday. “I just think the consistency and efficiency of it was what we wanted to get better at, and I think that’s where we made tremendous strides. He became a lot more consistent and efficient with those balls.”

Ironically enough, one of the tools used to help Colin Kaepernick become a better quarterback was to use a Nerf ball instead of the traditional football, which is said to help his touch throws over opposing linebackers.

If that’s the case, man, I must have a mean touch game come backyard football.
