Warriors Rumors: Draymond Green To Re-Sign With Golden State?

Draymond Green

There will be a handful of big names to enter NBA free agency this coming offseason, though one player is said to have captivated general managers around the league. That would be Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors, who will be a restricted free agent when the season concludes.

Many teams are said to have interest in offering Green a maximum level contract, but apparently that won’t matter as the Golden State Warriors plan to keep their forward by the Bay for the next 8-10 years according to head coach Steve Kerr.

Signing Draymond Green will likely push the Warriors over the luxury tax limit, but at this point you almost have to make such a move considering the forwards talents.

You can always make additional moves to get your overall tax salary back to a respectable level, but you can’t always find talent like Green who compliments talent like Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson perfectly.

Golden State will have the final say in all of this considering they own Green’s restricted rights and have the ability to match any contract offer he receives. The only thing that could prevent such would be Green opting to play on a one-year qualifying offer and becoming an unrestricted free agent after the 2015-16 season. That seems highly unlikely however.
