Thunder GM Says Kevin Durant Trade ‘Ludicrous’

Kevin Durant

Earlier this week a former NBA executive (who just happened to work for the Portland Trail Blazers when they drafted Greg Oden) suggested it was possible the Oklahoma City Thunder could trade Kevin Durant.

The suggestion was met with significant eye rolls, understandably, but the exec hinted that if Durant didn’t give OKC some type of commitment that he was willing to re-sign, they’d be best served by moving on.

Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti isn’t buying that though, suggesting a Kevin Durant trade is ‘ludicrous’.

“It’s ludicrous to assert that we would trade Kevin,” Presti told The Oklahoman. “There’s no way to measure what he represents to our organization on and off the floor. He has helped build this organization from the ground up and personifies the Thunder: past, present and future. When he’s done playing there will be streets named after him throughout the state and younger generations of Oklahomans will learn about the role Kevin has played in elevating this community in ways beyond basketball.”

Of course, denial or not, there’s no denying that Kevin Durant trade talk will continue to fill up the NBA rumor mill until a decision on his future is made.
