When you think of the best trash talkers in the NBA, you’d probably assume Kevin Garnett would be near the top of the list. There have always been rumors about KG’s over the top way with words and given the intensity we’ve seen from the basketball icon on the floor, serious trash talking seemed to go hand-in-hand.
But according to Steven Adams of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Kevin Garnett’s trash talking is nothing of the sort. In fact, it’s ‘depressing’ according to Adams.
Speaking to The Oklahoman, the OKC Thunder center suggested both the trash talking of KG and former teammate Kendrick Perkins were pretty sub par.
“KG and [Kendrick Perkins], those two are ridiculous,” said Adams. “They make you question, like, why you are playing basketball and stuff. You’re like ‘Why am I doing this?’ It’s really weird, you get depressed.”
I’m guessing Adams was suggesting that both basketball players reach so far with their trash talk, it stops being amusing. I mean, we all remember Kevin Garnett’s alleged dig at Carmelo Anthony, suggesting his wife tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios.
Nobody ever confirmed such, though, LaLa Anthony, Carmelo’s wife seemed to hint such was real and did not sit well.
