Steve Nash Training For Pro Soccer Career

Steve Nash

While Steve Nash might have been a two-time NBA MVP, it wasn’t his only athletic love.

As many of you might know, Nash holds an annual charity soccer game which often includes many former teammates and NBA stars like Dirk Nowitzki and more. Now it seems as if Nash is taking his ‘hobby’ and attempting to make a career out of it because 41-year-old Steve Nash is training for a pro soccer career.

Yep, you read that correctly – Steve Nash – a professional soccer player.

According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily Newsthe former Mavs, Suns and Lakers guard is looking to join the National Premier Soccer League’s New York Cosmos B team.

“The future NBA Hall of Famer trained this week the New York Cosmos B Team of the National Premier Soccer League, the Daily News has learned, and there’s a possibility he plays Sunday in a game against the Rhode Island Reds,” Bondy wrote.

While many might see this as nothing more than a promotional ploy, it sounds like Steve Nash is pretty serious about the attempt to make the soccer team.

If it doesn’t work out, he still has life in a basketball front office as multiple teams, like the LA Lakers and Toronto Raptors are said to be seeking to hire him.
