Stephen Curry Says Throwing Food Was In Self Defense

Golden State Warriors guard and NBA All-Star Stephen Curry found himself in some hot water this past weekend despite the fact he was nothing but an innocent bystander.

A huge fan of the Carolina Panthers, Curry made his way to Washington on Saturday to watch his hometown team take on the Seattle Seahawks. Along with Curry were family members and a few teammates, one of which was Draymond Green.

Reports have suggested an out of control Seahawks fan began taunting those in Stephen Curry’s suite which ended up in Green defending Curry’s mother and wife by throwing grapes at the fan.

Was Green simply being irritating or was there something more to the story? According to Curry, there was certainly more to it as the fan was badgering the group and the Warriors guard says the food was thrown in “self defense”.

“It was right after the pick-six, when they kind of opened up the game, there was this one fan that kind of lost his mind for a second. And we defended ourselves.”

“My mom is … she kept her composure for the most part because what the fan was doing was ridiculous and unacceptable,” Curry said.

Fans can do some really dumb things when they’ve had too much to drink, so while one can’t condone throwing grapes at a fan, it’s hard to suggest he didn’t deserve it.

On the plus side, at least Jay Z knows Draymond Green is willing to bust a grape in a fruit fight.
