Despite all but owning them over the past two seasons, the Golden State Warriors continue to get little respect from the Houston Rockets. Earlier in the week, despite a recent 25-point drubbing, James Harden of the Rockets suggested the Warriors “aren’t that good”. Then on Wednesday night, Stephen Curry of the Warriors had to be restrained from a potential fight thanks to a cheap shot from Trevor Ariza.
It all took place early in the third quarter when Curry and his Warriors were blowing out the Houston Rockets. Both Rockets guard Patrick Beverley and Stephen Curry were seen pushing each other around in the post, maybe not a basketball move but certainly nothing out of the ordinary. Still, the referee could see what was going on and hit Steph with a technical foul.
Situation over? Not in the least bit as just moments later, Curry was hit with an illegal screen by the Rockets which then lead to a shoulder check, a clear cheap shot.
The Golden State Warriors’ All-Star had enough and decided to go after Trevor Ariza, though Curry’s teammate Draymond Green was in the right place at the right time, holding Steph Curry back from any fight and subsequent suspension.
