What do Kobe Bryant and LeBron James have in common? Other than being former NBA MVP’s and basketball superstars, both have played alongside Shaquille O’Neal.
Granted, James played with Shaq towards the latter portion of his career while Bryant teamed up with O’Neal during his prime, still, the big man knows who he’d take if he had to start a team with one of the two players.
So who do you think he’d take? Would it be LeBron James, who he played with during his first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers? Or would it be Kobe Bryant who helped Shaq win multiple NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers?
Well, I’ll let Shaquille O’Neal answer that:
“I played with both of them,” O’Neal said. “You know, Kobe has that killer instinct. And I’d probably have to go with Kobe. That’s not a knock against LeBron. It’s just that I know Kobe and I played with him longer. I’ve seen what he can do.”
For what it’s worth, Shaq did go on to suggest that LeBron James does indeed have a killer instinct, but seemingly would just prefer to play alongside Kobe Bryant if push came to shove – which is a little odd considering how badly they disliked each other.
