Sacramento Kings Willing To Trade Nik Stauskas

Nik Stauskas

Anybody who has watched DeMarcus Cousins this season can’t help but feel bad for the Sacramento Kings center who yet again has been put through the ringer.

After a hot start to the season, Cousins’ Kings cooled off and eventually fired their head coach Michael Malone. Now it appears as if they’re willing to trade 2014 first-round pick Nik Stauskas, assuming the price is right.

Determined to find an upgrade to complement inside force DeMarcus Cousins, the Sacramento Kings are seeking frontcourt help in a trade and are willing to discuss first-round pick Nik Stauskas in the deal, league sources told CBSSports.com.

The Kings made waves when they drafted Nik Stauskas just one season after drafting fellow shooting guard Ben McLemore, though insisted the two could play together. McLemore, meanwhile after a rough rookie campaign has seemingly turned the corner during his sophomore season and looks like he could be Sacramento’s two-guard of the future. Given that, that could be why the Kings are more open to discussing a Nik Stauskas trade, something they often rebuffed during the early parts of the season.

It’s not known who the Kings would be targeting in such a deal, but are tired of Jason Thompson and Carl Landry not getting the job done alongside Cousins.
