Sacramento Kings Open To DeMarcus Cousins Trade?

DeMarcus Cousins

When you think of the Sacramento Kings, you think of DeMarcus Cousins, who despite some mild emotional issues in the past, is among the best players in the league.

So it makes almost zero sense to think the Kings would actually entertain the idea of a DeMarcus Cousins trade, but that’s exactly what is the case according to Howard Beck of Bleacher Report.

Beck states that every single player on the Sacramento Kings roster was open for discussion during the NBA’s trade deadline earlier this month, which included the former Kentucky star.

Even DeMarcus Cousins, their franchise center, is not untouchable, according to a source with insight into Karl’s thinking. “At the trade deadline, everyone was available,” the person said. Including Cousins? “Every single person (on the Kings roster) was available.” Although Karl does not hold a front office title, “he definitely has control” of future personnel decisions, the source said.

While it would be silly for the Kings to immediately rebuff any trade offers for Cousins (Hey, maybe the Cavs just have to depart with LeBron James) there’s really only a few elite names in the NBA the Kings would considering trading DeMarcus Cousins for.

Simply put, while the Kings may not have put an untouchable tag on DeMarcus Cousins, the chance of a trade is almost zero.
