Reggie Jackson Takes Parting Shot At OKC Thunder

Reggie Jackson

There is apparently no love lost between the Oklahoma City Thunder and former point guard Reggie Jackson.

OKC traded Jackson to the Detroit Pistons late last week, this after the guard reportedly requested a trade. That lead to both Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook each taking some subtle (and not so subtle) jabs at their former teammate (Durant’s here, Westbrook’s here).

Now it’s the turn of Reggie Jackson who says he was welcomed by the Detroit Pistons with open arms but the love was lacking from the Thunder.

“I wasn’t always perfect, nor was the situation, but I became the brunt of the blame there,” Jackson said. “Everything bad that happened, I was the scapegoat. I’m taking all this blame, and I’m wondering: ‘How am I supposed to change it all here, make an impact, in eight minutes a game?’ Everybody is jumping down my neck, and it gets annoying when I’m supposed to have this great impact playing so little this season. […] All of a sudden, I’m the bad locker room guy. I’m the problem…”

There are always two sides to every story and I’m sure the Thunder would have their own views on the situation. Whatever the case, it probably would have been best for Reggie Jackson to let sleeping does lie. But what fun is that, right?!

It should be one hell of a tilt the next time the two teams meet up.
